My first actual OC pony. I got the idea for this guy after I took part in a rolling game on Ponychan, so if it wasn't for Ponychan, this guy wouldn't have popped into my mind XD

Name: Willow "Custodius" Wisp
Gender: Male
Height: Average Male pony size
Species: Earth pony
Mane/tail colour/style: Black and slightly spiky
Coat colour: Light-grey with white parts
Eye colour: Midnight blue
Cutie mark: 3 violet embers

Personality: He is a very friendly pony and always tries to make friends, however this often back-lashes at him because of conversation topics he chooses (i.e. spiders). He never gets fazed or scared, and can sometimes have difficulty controlling his emotions. His one negative aspect is that he can often be oblivious to certain facts and takes time for him to finally realize what was meant.

Description: Willow Wisp's job is to protect and guide ponies who have to travel the roads at night for free. He only has to protect the ponies traveling the roads that lead to or from Ponyville. He is different from other members of his family, as he only needs about 3-4 hours sleep and feel energized. This enables him to be awake for most of the day and all the night.

Backstory: Willow Wisp comes from a family of night-workers, whose ancestors worshiped Princess Luna and the night that she brought. At a young age, he was never allowed to mingle with the ponies in Ponyville, and was only allowed to talk to other members of the family. When the night came for young family-members to try and find their cutie mark, Willow wanted to try something different. He had heard that an old couple were going to be traveling the Ponyville-Canterlot road at night and recent monster activity meant that it was going to be dangerous. So, Willow, grabbing his father's old lantern, looked after the couple, who didn't properly thank him after they arrived safely. This didn't gain him a cutie mark and his family almost disowned him after finding out he tried to mingle with others. However, it wasn't until after he had gotten his special lamp did he re-try his previous tactic, this time with a solitary young mare traveling the Ponyville-Fillydelphia road (I'll leave you Destriers to figure out who that might be ). It was a success and he gained his cutie mark, and his family finally understood his motivations, and congradulated him.

Physical prowess: As he job entitles him to protect others, he has trained himself to be both strong and fast. He can also step lightly on the ground, making him very stealthy and using the shadows to his advantage.

Tools: The one thing he carries around with him is his special lamp, which contains an enchanted violet flame. The lamp itself was an antique which his family members kept over the years; the original owner being a lamp-lighter pony. The flame actually holds the spirit of his dead grandmother, who created the flame for Willow on her death-bed. Because of this, Willow and his grandmother can commune to each other, although no-one besides Willow can hear his grandmother's voice. The flame can be controlled by Willow through will-power, but most of the time it is his grandmother who does most of the controlling. The flame can duplicate and increase in size, but only to about the size of someone's head. The flame can also manifest into a ghostly apparition of Willow's grandmother to scare off an enemy. This is the only time where others can see her presence.
