Canterlot's silent, evening streets were not graced by the moon's rays, as a thick veil of storm clouds blocked it from view. The calm before the storm was chilling, the entire world holding its breath in anticipation of the first drop of rain.

And when it fell, it came in torrents, crashing over rooftops and spilling into overflowing gutters. A streak of lightning illuminated the entirety of the peaceful capital, the violent rumble of thunder following quickly on its heels.

Willow and AJby ~TwilitMoon

Out of the depths of boredom, this was spawned. As you can see, my OC is as stoic as ever. The only actual 'work' I did on this was the Applejack vector, which came out surprisingly well

So what do these two have in common? Well, if it weren't for AJ, Willow may not have gotten his ember cutie mark. They met after Willow's grandmother passed away and Willow was given the special flame. AJ had her cutie mark by then but was still young at that age and had gotten her first task of carting apples to a buyer over in Fillydelphia. However she soon ran into trouble once she was well away from Ponyville. Willow, not really worrying about finding his cutie mark, stopped a group of bandits stealing from her, and offered to protect her until she had reached Fillydelphia.

Through the journey, they talked and for the first time, Willow was able to find someone who didn't look at him like a freak. Near Fillydelphia, they were attacked in force, however the flame in Willow's lantern sprung to life as it was revealed to be controlled by the spirit of Willow's grandmother. When the bandits retreated, his family had caught up. Willow explained to his family that he didn't care how they saw him as he wanted to live HIS life by HIS rules, not by anyone elses, and didn't care if he was to be disowned after helping AJ. However, the response he got was one of apology, as his father apologized to him after seeing such devotion and never allowing him to continue down a path that no-one else in the family could follow. After hearing this, Willow's flank shone and his 3 violet ember cutie mark appeared. After gaining his cutie mark, his father gave him the middle name of "Custodius". Considering it a sign, Willow Wisp and Applejack remained as friends.

I would also like to note that I DO NOT plan on shipping Willow Wisp with Applejack, unless I want to get attacked by trolls and avid AJ fans or whatever. Just thought I'd let you know that

I have no idea why your comment about Willow being "as stoic as ever" made me giggle.
But there's a nice story behind these two and I would definitely like to see more. >:

And don't worry about rabid AJ fans or anything; I've seen the community is fairly accepting of pairings with canon ponies. Just look at CherryMac or RayoTrixie.
And if it comes down to it, I'll kick some flank for you. :3
